At Kalkan Wedding Events, we have a rule: No unpleasant surprises.

Too many agencies give you a "package price" that excludes VAT, service charges, or the "mandatory" generator fee. We believe you should know exactly where every Lira, Euro, and Pound goes.

The Currency Rule

Due to inflation in Turkey, the wedding industry operates on a hybrid currency model: * Venues & Planners: Usually quoted in GBP (£) or Euros (€) to keep prices stable. * Local Expenses: Taxi transfers, market shopping, and small vendors are paid in Turkish Lira (TRY).

Estimated Budgets (Based on 50 Guests)

Where Does the Money Go?

1. Venue Hire (Exclusivity Fee) Unlike UK hotels, Kalkan beach clubs are public businesses. To have a private wedding, you must pay an "Exclusivity Fee" to close the venue to the public for the night. * **Cost:** £1,500 - £5,000 (Depending on the month and day of the week). * *Note:* Restaurant terraces (like Salt & Pepper) often have lower hire fees if a minimum spend on food is met.

2. Catering & Alcohol This is Kalkan, so food is a priority. * **Dinner:** £60 - £100 per person (Includes welcome canapés and 3-4 courses). * **Alcohol:** Turkey has high taxes on alcohol. An "Unlimited Local Bar" (Beer, Wine, Raki, Vodka/Gin) is the standard. Importing Champagne or specific whisky brands will increase the cost significantly.

3. Flowers & Decor (The "Hidden" Cost) This is where couples are often shocked. Fresh flowers in Turkey are expensive because high-quality blooms are often imported or transported from Antalya/Izmir in refrigerated trucks. * **Bridal Bouquet:** £100 - £180 * **Ceremony Arch:** £500 - £2,500 * **Pro Tip:** Use local greenery (Olive branches, Eucalyptus) and Bougainvillea to reduce costs and look more authentic.

4. Logistics & Transfers Dalaman Airport is 1.5 hours away. You are not responsible for your guests' flights, but organizing their transfer is a nice touch. * **Private Vito (VIP Van):** ~£70-90 one way (for up to 6 people). * **Shuttle Bus:** Significantly cheaper for large groups.

Hidden Fees to Watch Out For When comparing quotes, ask these questions: 1. **"Is Service Charge included?"** (Usually 10-15%). 2. **"Is the music license included?"** (Some venues charge extra for music after midnight). 3. **"Is there a generator fee?"** (Power cuts happen in summer; a backup generator is non-negotiable).
